This position is to hire for a Pharmacy Technician to work PRN (which means the hours vary and no hours are guaranteed) to help with coverage of the pharmacy when the pharmacy technician is out sick, taking vacation days or when there is a need for coverage in the pharmacy. Most weeks this technican work work on average 8 hours, however, there could be weeks where this technician will work 16-24 hours/week. When scheduled to work hours will be 8:30am-5:00pm; Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Starting pay for this position is $17.60/hour. POSITION SUMMARY: The Retail Pharmacy Technician is responsible for performing general duties, including operating cash register, stocking supplies and merchandise, billing and filling prescriptions, and answering telephone calls. Work involves standing, lifting and walking continually while in the process of performing duties. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: At least 16 years of age and is attending or graduated from an accredited high school or comparable school or educational institution or GED Licenses/Certifications: Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) validated by PTCB or National Healthcareer Certification within 2 years of initial licensure or within 2 years of hire, if the original date of Illinois Pharmacy Technician license is prior to January 1, 2008 Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: At least 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent. 1 year pharmacy experience.
