Retail Purchasing Manager, Target Field

The opportunity

Delaware Sportservice is hiring a Retail Purchasing Manager to join our team at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a Retail Purchasing Manager, you will work closely with the Unit Retail Manager on all product buys and will manage vendor communication, analysis, and development of multiple product lines. In addition to the responsibilities below, you will be involved in store merchandising, social media and marketing strategy as well as maintaining positive client and venor relaitonships while enhancing customer experience. 

 

 

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $61,200 – $82,600 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. What will you do? Partner with the Unit Retail Manager and clients to manage vendor selection, category planning, and marketing strategies for licensed apparel, headwear, and novelty lines. Work closely with the Unit Retail Manager throughout thr full buy process including reviewing lines, market trends, research and analysis through building the assortment and creating purchase orders. Collaborate and communicate with all partners on custom designs and logo decoration adhering to licensing guidelines, make sure all the timelines and key deadlines are met. Capitalize and develop new categories, trends and exclusives. Ability to present and speak to retail assortments, programs and initiatives including strategy and execution. Support the Unit Retail Manager with assortment replenishment through strategic analysis, vendor communication and purchase order creation. Engage with cross departmental teams to support the business including operations, merchandising, marketing, social media and finance at the unit and corporate level. Analyze reporting and trends to make strategic and data driven buy, replenishment and inventory reduction decisions. Adhere to company directives on inventory levels, open to buy and reporting. Data entry proficiency is a must requiriing high level attention to detail and accuracy. Merchandising stores and working events including nights, weekends and holidays. Travel to trade shows, vendor meetings, and other units. All other duties as assigned.

More about you Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience   Minimum of 2 years of retail purchasing experience with at least 1 -3 year of retail operational and merchandising experience preferred  Professional sports merchandise experience is a plus   Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Power Point; previous retail system knowledge is a plus  Understanding of social media channels, content, and the internet Requires high level communication and organizational skills Ability to dvelop constructive and cooperative working relationships Must be able to manage multiple tasks, priorities and easily adapt to changing situations Possess a high level of professionalism in a team structure both internally and with client and vendors  dors.

Physical requirements Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking
