You will create an inspiring shopping experience in which our guest feels empowered to customize their space. As the Store Manager, you will promote the Ballard Designs brand at every guest encounter and ensure your stellar team exemplifies brand values, standards, and experiences. Your leadership will guide company programs, increase sales, and set your store to exceed all expectations.
The store location is Solana Beach, CA - onsite

You will report to the VP of Retail
Your Impact
Direct the work of 7-9 direct reports, e.g., assign work; evaluate work performance; provide coaching and performance feedback; counsel and discipline team members when warranted; schedule team members. Make a plan & drive EBITDA by sales performance management, control cost through optimal scheduling, and purchasing of supplies. Train and motivate staff to provide exceptional service that inspires repeat business.Recruit and hire top talent while developing existing teams. Ensure each team member has a developmental growth plan that supports their career aspirationsConduct regular touch bases with all team members discussing sales metrics, strengths and opportunities, and all other necessary deliverables. Conversations will support and encourage a team environment that is positive, uplifting, and empowered.Work With Design Guests while Designs Consultants are tied up with other Guests.Other responsibilities, and activities as assigned.What You Bring
5+ years of management experience in specialty retail or multi-unit retail business environment.Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), Outlook, Kronos, and POS systems.Ability to lift and mobilize medium to large items, up to 50 lbsAbility to stand for long periods of time and climb ladders.Remote work is not permitted in NYC at this time.
