SUMMARY
Responsible for installing, configuring, upgrading, and supporting point-of-sale (POS) equipment and software for the NFI retail chains.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Install and configure POS systems as needed in the company's retail operations.Provide support for POS system operational and technical issues as reported by store associates.Coordinate and implement POS system equipment moves, additions and changes as requested and approved by store managers and District Managers.Coordinate efforts of third-party vendors as necessary to accomplish POS system equipment installations, moves, additions, and changes.Provide remote assistance to third parties performing onsite hardware repairs.Work with the POS vendor software support organization to resolve software problems, including tracking and monitoring chronic, repeat issues that are not being resolved in a timely manner.Work with the POS vendor to acquire, test, and deploy software upgrades and fixes as necessary to enhance POS system features and functionality from time to time.Maintain a functioning POS lab system to allow testing of POS features and functions.Maintain a library of archive copies of the various software versions required to allow re-installation of the software in case of catastrophic failures of systems and/or equipment.Develop and maintain documentation of POS system hardware and software installation processes and procedures.Assist other Information Technology team associates as needed to install configure, upgrade and support other store-level PC equipment and software.Other duties as assigned by supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Four year degree in Computer Science helpfulThree or more years of experience using and installing Windows and Windows Server OS. Extensive experience installing and supporting diverse PC applications, PC software imaging, and TCP/IP networking. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Excellent public relations and organizational skills, ability to successfully manage multiple simultaneous tasks and projects.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentages)
