Retail Training Manager
**DESCRIPTION** The Retail Training Manager oversees the training and development initiatives for Retail Training Specialists within a designated region or territory. This role involves leading a team of trainers, coordinating training programs and ensuring consistency in merchandising standards, product knowledge, and brand representation across various locations. The Retail Training Manager collaborates with Regional Managers, District Managers, and corporate training teams to drive performance improvement and enhance the effectiveness of training initiatives. **RESPONSIBILITIES** + Manage a team of field merchandiser trainers, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives. + Develop and implement training strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of training delivery. + Coordinate training schedules, resources, and logistics to support the timely execution of training programs across multiple locations. + Collaborate with regional managers and district managers to assess training needs, identify performance gaps, and prioritize skill development areas for field merchandiser trainers. + Conduct regular performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and professional development discussions with trainer team members to foster growth and career advancement. + Monitor and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of training programs through performance metrics, participant feedback, and observations. + Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation in training delivery methods, content development, and technology utilization. + Serve as a liaison between field merchandiser trainers, corporate training teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders to facilitate communication and collaboration. + Stay in touch with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to retail merchandising, training, and employee development. + Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards in all training activities and interactions. + Assist in coordinating the covering of open territories (i.e. executing Client specific work) by the Field Training Specialists. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Minimum Qualifications-Education and Experience** + High School Diploma/GED required; associate degree preferred. 1-3 years retail and supervisor experience required. **Minimum Qualifications-Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Must have a valid driver’s license and must be able to drive a car for extended periods of time. + Some college with prior management/supervisory experience with a minimum of 2 years industry experience. Prior sales agent, retail, customer service or reset responsibility and associate degree preferred. + Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, decision making and leadership skills. Must be able to read and communicate effectively with others. + Must be a self-starter, quick learner, has a strong attention to detail, be flexible and agile. + Must be able to work effectively in web-based applications and email, word processing, and spreadsheet applications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required. + Must have a valid driver’s license, have dependable transportation and be able to drive in a car for extended periods of time. + Must be able to lift and carry individual cases of product, shelving, or displays of up to 40 pounds. + Must be willing and able to work in cold environmental conditions (i.e. refrigerated and freezer sections of retail stores) for limited periods of time. + Must be able to operate a computer, calculator, smart phone, hammer, screwdriver, drill, case cutter, hand truck, and pallet jack.
