Retail Training Program Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Retail Training Program Manager will lead and implement various cross-functional training programs that support Base Camp Initiatives and new store opening training execution. The primary goal is to ensure retail associates are equipped with comprehensive product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service skills to increase sales and improve the customer experience. 

This position will partner with the Learning and Development, Marketing, Merchants, Vendors, and the field teams to execute key training programs and initiatives that support our Associates in delivering world class customer service for our customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Serve as the primary liaison with internal and external partners to coordinate training initiatives and learning activities for our retail associates to develop product knowledge and selling skills, drive key business initiatives, product launches and overall Customer Engagement. Ensure all training materials are up to date with the latest product features, benefits, trends, new releases and any change in product specifications.  Work with vendor partners and merchant teams to design product demos, and workshops, enhancing engagement and training effectiveness. Responsible for conducting training sessions for retail associates as well as train-the-trainers, both in person and virtually.  Provide on-hands demonstrations of products and their usage to enhance learning and applications.  Lead workshops in selling techniques, customer engagement, and upselling based on product knowledge.Leads training efforts for new store openings by coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring teams are equipped with operational knowledge, customer service standards, and brand values.  Develop detailed event plans, timelines and checklists to ensure smooth execution.  Coordinate event logistics, including vendor coordination and participation, venue selection, training content review, associate scheduling, equipment needs, and oversee the setup and execution of training events, ensuring everything runs according to the business objectives. Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, quizzes, and observations of in-store performance.  Track associate progress and provide feedback to improve product knowledge and sales techniques.  Monitor retail team performance metrics, to include product sales, average ticket, units per transaction, attachment rates, customer feedback surveys, and knowledge application, to measure training success.Develop and maintain the annual training calendars, product roll and new product launch timelines, and overall documentation of internal retail training processes. 

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Degree Required:    Bachelor's DegreePreferred Degree:  Bachelor's Degree in Management, Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.Certificate(s) or License(s):Years of experience:  Minimum of 5 years of experience in project or event management.Proficiency with Microsoft Office.Experience with Learning Management System tools and software.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from company leadership, Managers, vendors, and associates.Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to large and small groups.Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, associates, customers and with the Corporate Staff.Able to work with others, collaborate effectively, and build relationships.Strong oral and written communication.Navigates ambiguity and changing priorities successfully.Strong attention to detail, a self-starter with the ability to learn quickly.Able to manage projects, create effective plans and execute.This role is designed for an individual who is passionate about education, product knowledge, and driving sales performance by equipping retail teams with the tools they need to succeed.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Travel as needed to support new store openings and training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly sits, and works on computers.

Occasionally walks, and stands.

Seldom or never lifts up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
