Retail Workforce Planning Consultant The Retail Workforce Planning Consultant is responsible for providing strategic expertise to define and govern the banking center workforce staffing model and associated planning, monitoring, and deployment including banking center salary budgets of approximately $130MM and forecasting related to personnel expenses nationally. Manages and oversees banking center staffing tools and associated enhancements. Consult with Retail Banking leaders to optimize a workforce of approximately 2,200 positions. Provides data, feedback, and guidance to resolve challenges and further optimize banking center staffing to support growth and appropriately manage risk. Position Responsibilities: Workforce Planning & Analysis: * Conduct forecasting and analysis of workforce needs, including demand, capacity, and workload distribution. * Develop models for staffing scenarios and shift optimization based on business volume, seasonality, and trends. Proactively analyze workforce data, including absenteeism, productivity, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. * Provide recommendations for workforce structure, including hiring, training, and redeployment of resources to optimize business results. * Prepare comprehensive analysis insights on salary, headcount, direct expenses, and project financial status for senior management on a monthly basis. * Analyze and manage labor costs, ensuring alignment with the company's financial objectives. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize spending while maintaining efficiency in workforce allocation. * Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to workforce investment, focusing on maximizing the return on labor costs, productivity, and staffing decisions. * Provide insights on workforce productivity and efficiency and their impact on the company's bottom line. * Collaborate with HR and finance teams to assess and ensure pay equity across various departments and roles, utilizing compensation data and analytics to recommend adjustments that foster fairness and inclusion. * Conduct granular and macro-level analyses of Banking Center turnover, providing actionable recommendations to improve retention. * Advance delivery and staffing models to improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and revenue generation. * Analyze and recommend staffing levels required for consolidations and assess the financial impact. * Provide guidance on how staffing changes will be handled, including turnover and severance. * Clearly and concisely articulate proposed workforce changes and associated justification through summarized executive presentations supported by detailed analysis and support. Implementation & Execution: * Assist with the implementation and management of workforce management software and technologies to optimize staffing efficiency (e.g., WFM tools like Kronos, NICE, Verint). * Design and develop annual and monthly staffing forecasts for salary planning across Retail Banking Centers. * Develop and manage project timelines and deliverables related to workforce initiatives. * Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of workforce management strategies, making adjustments as necessary. * Lead the development and management of the national salary/headcount budget and other direct expense line items. * Manage processes to meet budgetary goals, including adjustments for lag, staff reductions, salary recommendations, and promotions. * Develop, support, and manage programs designed to enhance colleague development in partnership with HR and Retail Leadership. * Align transformation initiatives with Retail's long-term strategies, elevating to new levels of banking capabilities. * Anticipate future staffing needs based on business goals, competitive intelligence, and market conditions. * Take full ownership of workforce planning, forecasting, and scheduling. Identify potential challenges early and create action plans to address them before they impact operations and productivity. * Be the primary decision-maker for workforce management-related issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions are implemented. Take charge of decisions regarding staffing levels, resource allocation, and shift planning. * Be fully accountable for the success of workforce management initiatives. Ensure that decisions lead to positive outcomes in terms of labor efficiency, cost management, and colleague satisfaction. Client Engagement & Consultation: * Serve as a trusted advisor to internal business partners, understanding their business goals, workforce challenges, and operational needs based on the unique needs of each market. * Conduct thorough assessments of current workforce management processes, including staffing, scheduling, forecasting, and reporting by market and position. * Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements and discuss recommendations. * Design and present tailored workforce optimization strategies and solutions that align with client objectives. * Actively monitor workforce performance metrics and address inefficiencies, absenteeism, or skill gaps. Propose and execute solutions to meet operational demands while balancing employee engagement and performance. Other Duties as Assigned: * Prepare ad-hoc analysis for senior management on various topics as needed. * Engage as banking center workforce subject matter professional for Retail and enterprise programs. * Oversee and manage various projects and initiatives to drive the strategic goals of the Retail Banking Centers. * Provide leadership in designing and managing initiatives aimed at colleague growth. * Regularly evaluate and refine workforce processes to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
