**Job Profile Summary**
The Senior Retirement Planning Specialist reports to the Retirement Plans Manager and focused on:
Employee Guidance and Education: Assist employees at all career stages with retirement planning, focusing on financial preparedness, mindset readiness, and maximizing company benefits.
Communication and Analysis: Develop, implement, and evaluate leadership and employee development programs for retirement, including workshops, training sessions, and coaching, aligned with organizational goals and leadership competencies.
Expertise and Support: Use data, assessment tools, and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness, refine initiatives, and stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive organizational success.
**Essential Functions and Responsibilities**
The Senior Retirement Planning Specialist plays a pivotal role in guiding employees toward successful retirement planning and financial security. This position supports a culture of care, excellence, and innovation by:
+ **Employee Education and Support**
+ Deliver impactful presentations and seminars on retirement planning, financial readiness, and benefit optimization.
+ Provide personalized consultation to employees to help them maximize company benefits and achieve retirement goals.
+ Collaborate with employees, retirees, and management to address retirement needs and provide expert guidance.
+ **Plan Administration and Analysis**
+ Analyze retirement plans, including pensions, retiree medical benefits, and 401(k), to ensure effective management and optimization.
+ Monitor trends in retirement plans, preparing recommendations to maintain competitiveness and align with industry standards.
+ **Reporting and Communication**
+ Compile and process retirement-related reports, benefit statements, and correspondence with employees, vendors, and external stakeholders.
+ Manage the preparation of materials such as benefit coverage analyses, legal reviews, and funding requirements.
+ **Leadership and Guidance**
+ Conduct employee communications, enrollment meetings, and retirement seminars.
+ Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff members, as needed.
**Education**
+ Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business administration, related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job related experience: Business Administration/Management
**Work Experience**
+ Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in retirement planning, employee benefits or related field for mid-sized and large organizations.
+ Interacts effectively with internal and external customers, providing clear and professional communication.
+ Utilizes office tools, equipment, and software applications efficiently, including Human Resources Systems (HRS).
+ Manages benefit plans while maintaining confidentiality and resolving problems with precision.
+ Researches and analyzes employee benefit plans, surveys, policies, reports, procedures, and correspondence to ensure accuracy and compliance.
+ Reviews and interprets company policies, governmental regulations, actuarial evaluations, legal opinions, contracts, and other benefit-related documents.
+ Develops clear, actionable information and presents it effectively through meetings and presentations.
+ Applies strong interpersonal and communication skills to advise and support employees and stakeholders.
+ Expertise in retirement counseling and plan optimization strategies.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Knowledge of: retirement plans, including pensions, 401(k), and retiree medical benefits.
+ Knowledge of: Social Security and Medicare regulations and benefits.
+ Knowledge of: employee benefit plans, policies, procedures, and related governmental laws and regulations.
+ Skills in: preparing and analyzing reports, benefit statements, and related documentation.
+ Skills in: evaluating and managing retirement plans trends.
+ Skills in: collaborating with employees, retirees, and external stakeholders.
+ Ability to: interpret and ensure compliance with government regulations related to retirement benefits.
+ Ability to: manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
+ Ability to: guide junior staff and support team initiatives.
**Licenses and Certifications**
+ Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)-IFEBP or
+ Professional in Human Resources (PHR)-HRCI preferred
