This Minnesota State Retirement System position exists to perform professional retirement services for final (first) benefit payments including regular, divorce, and disability. This position will compute and audit the most complex estimates, and calculate death estimates for defined benefit plans. The incumbent will provide high-level counseling both in-person and on the telephone to participants regarding their pension plan(s), Health Care Savings Plan (HCSP), and Minnesota Deferred Compensation Plan (MNDCP). **Minimum Qualifications** Three (3) years of professional experience administering financial or retirement benefits to customers which includes customer coaching, legal interpretation, and guidance on plans and policies. **A Master's degree in business or related field can substitute for 18 months of experience, OR a related Bachelor's degree can substitute for 1 year of experience, OR a related Associate's degree can substitute for 6 months of experience. Years of experience and education must demonstrate the following: + Mathematical skills sufficient to produce and audit complex annuity benefit calculations, and to provide analysis on complex computation errors. + Abilityto interpretand translatelaws, rules,regulations, and policies + AbilitytomaintaintheconfidentialityofdataandinformationinaccordancewiththeMinnesotaGovernmentDataPractices Act + Advanced verbal and written communication sufficient to give individual and group presentations, counsel participants and beneficiaries on retirement issues over the phone, in person, or in writing, and to prepare comprehensive reports and documents. + Possess, or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire, FINRA Series 6and 63 Licenses + Possess, or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire, MinnesotaLife, Accident, andHealth InsuranceLicenses **Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree inBusinessAdministration, Accounting, or Finance + Knowledgeof social security, groupinsurance,andstateandfederalincometaxastheyrelate torefund,retirement, disability, divorce, and survivor benefits + Knowledge of laws and policies regarding MSRS annuity calculations and Combined Service Annuities + Experienceworking for apublic pension fundorprivate financial services institution + Possess FINRA Series 6 and 63 Licenses + Possess Minnesota Life, Accident and Health Insurance Licenses **Additional Requirements** It is the policy of the Minnesota State Retirement System that all employees submit to a background investigation prior to employment.
