Job Summary:
Hill York seeks a Retrofit Technician who is responsible for upgrading or modifying existing HVAC systems in commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. This role will require the ability to successfully install any necessary upgrades or replacements and ensure the modified system functions efficiently and meets all relevant standards. The Retrofit Technician will also be responsible for troubleshooting any issues that arise during the process.
Retrofit Technician Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the installation and repairs of HVAC equipment. Assist with preventative maintenance and service repairs and/or small service jobs as needed. Must have working knowledge of package units, condensing units/air handlers, fan coil units, heat pumps, and other building mechanical equipment. Work with the Project Manager and other technicians to ensure that the workload is accomplished in a complete and timely manner. Ensure that all documentation required is completed timely and accurately. Ensure timesheets are completed daily. The individual must maintain safe work practices in support of the OSHA Health & Safety as it applies when performing the assigned duties.Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Strong understanding of HVAC systems Excellent problem solving skills 2 years of experience in maintaining similar type and size commercial equipment, along with installation experience. Universal CFC certification/EPA certification. Strong oral communication required. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision. Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments. Valid Driver’s license and able to maintain a good driving record. Ability to stand, sit or squat for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, move and carry material up to 50 lbs. Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work at extended heights. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). i.e., but not limited to, Dust mask, gloves, eye protection and hearing protection. Working knowledge of mobile devices (smart phone/tablet) and internet-based programs to perform regular work duties.
