The Revenue Accountant is responsible for providing accounting support to the Finance Department. Duties will include revenue accounting functions such as preparing monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reports and analysis. Supports the Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance Department.
+ Prepare monthly reconciliation of all revenue streams including Medicaid, State & Federal funds.
+ Prepare weekly Journal Entries to post Cash, Revenue and AR from Electronic Health Record system (Netsmart).
+ Ensure accounts receivable & deferred revenue transactions are processed correctly and in a timely manner.
+ Prepare monthly journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and excel preparation of Convent and Consolidation reporting.
+ Acquire in-depth understanding of Billing utilizing the Electronic Health Reporting System to troubleshoot variances and anomalies in General ledger reporting.
+ Assists CFO/Revenue Manager with Account Receivable reconciliations and collections.
+ Assist CFO/Revenue Manager with tracking and analysis of all OPWDD published rates, including but not limited to forecasting of future revenue recognition.
+ Tracks vacancies & occupancies of Residential program including but not limited to tracking of State approved Certification documents.
+ Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections and financial analyses
+ Assists with new program revenue billing, reporting, tracking
+ Assist with annual audit requests
+ Assist with Budget preparation and importing
+ Assist with the preparation of the annual consolidated financial report (CFR)
+ Support the Finance Department with other related projects as necessary
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
+ Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
+ Working knowledge of GAAP
+ Not for Profit accounting /OPWDD industry experience (Medicare/Medicaid rate) preferred
+ Attention to detail and accuracy
+ Efficient interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
+ Strong decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills
+ Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
+ Strong initiative, work ethic, and team player
+ Ability to deal sensitively with confidential information
