The Revenue Accounting Supervisor will play a pivotal role in managing revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, detail review therapy invoices for release to hospital partners and providing guidance to a team of senior accountants. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and revenue recognition regulations, such as ASC 606, to effectively oversee the accuracy and timeliness of all revenue-related transactions.

 

Essential Functions

Oversees and performs detail review of therapy invoices created by accounting staff. Oversees financial reporting for certain revenue streams including trial balances, adjustments and closing entries. Analyze and record accounting transactions for Company activity in support of monthly accounting close. Collaborates with Finance, RCM, Growth and Operations to ensure timely resolution of revenue accounting related inquiries. Assist with customer communication. Manage the Contract Billing mailbox and communications with key stakeholders for invoice generation.Assist with revenue accounting process including preparation and review of monthly invoices, accrual entries, reconciliations, and variance analytics. Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations and schedules related to revenue and accounts receivable. Ensure timely and accurate revenue reporting.Continually assess and improve revenue accounting process, including automating and streamlining workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy. Ensure all revenue accounting practices comply with Company policies, internal controls, and regulatory standards.Mentor and develop accountants, provide ongoing support and guidance for their professional growth. Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explaining revenue-related transactions. Review invoices for selected outpatient hospital arrangements.Review and approve invoices for athletic training customers (ATC).Ownership of facility cost revenue. Review of invoices and financial analysis. Liaise with Real Estate, AP & Lease Accounting.Review & approve late fee invoices. Liaise with RCM leader.Prepare summary billings for key hospital partners.Distribute invoices to customers.Prepare month-end invoice reporting.Coordinate month-end invoicing with Finance team; respond to Finance team revenue questions.Assist in ensuring the team meets internal close timeline goals through management of monthly invoice trackers.Respond to ad hoc requests for revenue reporting from Company departments.

Required Skills & Abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Window-based applications. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Must have demonstrated skill in prioritizing daily responsibilities and crises to handle a heavy workload. Must be able to work successfully in a fast-paced environment.•

Required Credentials

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.CPA Certification required.4+ years of accounting experience.2+ years of staff supervision/review.NetSuite or similar ERP experience preferred.Healthcare industry experience is a plus.

Thorough understanding of GAAP (specifically ASC 606), internal controls, operational risk assessment and financial reporting.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate issues, identify and provide sound guidance for resolution.Strong written and oral communication skills. Self-motivated and independent, detail-oriented, strong work ethic, and high integrity and ethical standards. High attention to detail, with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
