Overview Smile Brands is a dominant player in the dental space and we are seeking a Revenue Cycle Coordinator to join our team The Revenue Cycle Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the revenue cycle process for the dental practices within the organization. This includes tasks related to patient billing, claims submission, payment processing, accounts receivable, and collections. The position ensures that all aspects of revenue cycle operations function efficiently and in compliance with company policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will work closely with the dental practices to optimize revenue collection, minimize delays in payments, and improve overall financial performance. This is an on-site position with occasional travel to nearby offices. Schedule (days/hours) 7-4 Monday thru Thursday; 7-3:30 Friday Responsibilities Oversee the billing and collection processes to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims for dental services. Collaborate with dental offices to address billing and coding issues, ensuring proper documentation for insurance claims. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims to ensure timely payment from insurance companies and patients. Review and analyze rejected or denied claims, troubleshoot errors, and resubmit claims as necessary. Handle patient inquiries regarding billing, payments, and insurance coverage, providing excellent customer service. Maintain accurate records of patient account statuses, adjustments, and payment plans. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and relevant dental insurance guidelines (including Medicaid, PPOs, HMOs, and other insurance types). Generate regular reports for management, detailing billing activity, collections, accounts receivable aging, and other key performance indicators (KPIs). Collaborate with the dental management team to implement best practices for revenue cycle management, focusing on reducing errors and improving cash flow. Provide ongoing training and support to dental office staff regarding revenue cycle processes and insurance verification procedures. Monitor and address patient accounts with overdue balances, coordinating with collections agencies when necessary. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in dental or healthcare revenue cycle management, billing, or collections. Familiarity with dental billing codes (CDT codes), procedures, and insurance claims processes. Proficiency in dental practice management software (such as Dentrix, EagleSoft, or Open Dental) and electronic claims systems. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with patients, office staff, and insurance companies. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. Interaction with dental office staff and insurance companies via phone and email Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Preferred Qualifications Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) or similar certification (not required) Knowledge of insurance regulations, including Medicaid and private insurance plans, is a plus.
