Family Service Association is seeking to hiring a full time, 40 hours per week, Accounts Payable Clerk. Hours are Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Revenue Cycle Specialist, reporting to the Director of Financial Services, plays a critical role in managing the financial operations of the organization by overseeing the end-to-end revenue cycle process. This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of patient accounts, from initial point of service through payment receipt. Key responsibilities include reviewing and processing insurance claims, verifying patient insurance information, resolving billing issues, managing denials, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and payer requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review all insurance updates, including fee schedules and notify appropriate personnel of changesMonitor accounts receivable aging reports and take necessary actions to address overdue accountsVerify insurance coverage and eligibility, updating patient accounts as neededContact software vendors to rectify issues within the softwareProcess end-stage billing functions, in all systems, including editing deposits, researching failed claims, completing claim and payment approval and following up on any errors or questionable items.Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, working with insurance companies to resolve issues, ensure prompt payment, and update billing data based on changes in plan benefits or contract informationMonitor the status of denials, appeals, and claim errors by using folders/work queues and conducting routinePeriodic follow up on previously researched claims items. Prepare and sends written appeals when necessary with appropriate documentationReview and process all write-offs received from staffRespond to reasonable expectations of Agency and/or Supervisor
Education and Experience:
Minimum education requirement of an Associate’s Degree or equivalent is requiredThis individual requires a detail-oriented, analytical professional with a strong understanding of healthcare billing, coding, and revenue cycle managementProficient in ExcelAt least five years of billing and/or electronic medical record systems experience is preferredThis is a benefits eligible position.
