Revenue Cycle Specialist Are you passionate about providing opportunities for individuals to rebuild their lives? The Rescue Mission of Trenton is seeking to hire a Revenue Cycle Specialist. The Revenue Cycle Specialist will work under supervision of the Chief Financial Officer providing support for all aspects of insurance billing, as well as claims follow-up and collections. This position will coordinate extensively with executive and clinical staff from our Emergency Shelter and Behavioral Health units on claims related to our participation in the NJ FamilyCare Housing Supports program. This position will have direct contact with the appropriate third-party MCO payers for all claims, including unpaid and denied claims and those requiring appeal, as well as non-payment, overpayments, and underpayments. What it’s like to work at the Rescue Mission of Trenton: Rescue Mission of Trenton was founded in 1915 and is a non-profit organization that helps rescue people from themselves and their situations. Our dedicated staff in the Shelter and our Behavioral Health Unit offer care, support and encouragement to all that reside here. We value dignity, communication and helping each of our clients reach their full potential. Clients and residents are assisted by staff with treatment options, medical help, job placement, financial planning, education, counseling and mental health treatment. Our staff works diligently with the clients to get ID, an income and the things necessary to help them with transitioning to housing and their recovery journey. Qualifications for Position: • Fluent in English and Spanish preferred (both written and verbal) • B.A. in business, healthcare administration, or a related field • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding principles.• Provider medical billing experience (3-5 years) with a thorough understanding of medical insurance billing basics, ie; eligibility, charges, allowed amounts, payments, adjustments, denials, and appeals.• Thorough understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and commercial insurance billing requirements. • Certified Revenue Cycle Management Specialist (CRCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), and Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) a plus Key Duties and Responsibilities: + Reviewing Patient Registration for accurate billing + Assigning appropriate medical codes and code compliance with federal and state regulations, payer policies and industry standards + Serving as lead in analyzing coding practices opportunities for business performance improvement + Preparing and submitting claims and identifying and correcting billing errors before submission + Analyzing denied claims and implementing corrective actions + Tracking key performance indicators + Maintaining all compliance coding and billing regulations + Generating reports and analyzing revenue cycle metrics + Managing relationship with MCOs Candidates Who will be Success Will Have: • Proficiency in medical billing and coding • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and billing software (Credible preferred).• Strong mathematical skills• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
