RF/Switch-Mode Design Engineer

A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As an RF/Switch-Mode Design Engineer at Power Solutions, you will partner with NPI Systems Engineering to research and develop high performance plasma power generation equipment used in state-of-the-art semiconductor processing tools. MKS plasma power sources are used in the fabrication of virtually all high-performance integrated circuits used in smart phones, cloud servers, and AI-enabled devices. In this role, you will report to the Core Engineering Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:
+ High power RF design expertise in linear and/or switch mode amplifiers (400kHz to 60MHz)
+ PCBA Layout/design of RF Drivers, Combiners, Output filter (PADs experience a plus)
+ Support design and analysis of high-performance control theory
+ Validating performance in real-world situations (e.g. in a plasma processing environment)
+ Proficient with simulation tools such as ADS, HFSS, Spice and MATLAB
+ Analysis of lab/field failures and development of mitigations and solutions
+ Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability
Skills You Bring:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or similar technical degree (Master’s or higher a plus)
+ 2+ years of related experience in Electronic Engineering
+ 2+ years of strong theoretical background in electronics and physics
+ 2+ years in testing power electronics (e.g. oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power meters)
+ 2+ years in design for high reliability systems
Preferred Skills: (Optional)
+ Interest and experience in design for high reliability systems
+ Good writing skills (proposals, specifications, test reports, engineering analyses, etc.)
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
+ Ability to lift up to 50lbs
+ Office and laboratory environment
