Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE

Looking for an experienced RF Systems Engineer who will be involved in the full product lifecycle from research and concept development, through system design, integration, verification and validation for Asset tracking products / solutions.

You will join a world-class team of experts exploring new concepts through rapid prototyping leading to shipping products.

This role will work on the RF and Antenna elements for a range of wireless technologies including, Bluetooth / BLE, WiFi, Cellular and GNSS.  This role will also be responsible for technical evaluation and competitive analysis of internal and external devices.

The successful candidate should be a strong and effective communicator who can work with both internal and external stakeholders (e.g. suppliers, partners and customers) at all levels of seniority.  They will be able to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.  You should also have the skills to perform technical investigations, provide problem assessments, and propose design solutions within a culture of innovative thinking. 

MAJOR / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Apply technical knowledge of RF and antennas to design, develop and improve the RF systems for the Digital range of tracking products and solutions.

• Design and execute RF testing and validation of various Antenna designs. This could include both field and on-site testing.

• Work with suppliers and partners on the above.

• Drive and participate in technical reviews and support processes.

• Working remotely with customers and team members in international locations

• Working in a matrix environment

• Learning both own and competitor’s products and solutions with respect to RF / Antenna design to carry out competitive analysis.

• Working autonomously or having limited access to immediate manager

KEY C0NTACTS

Internal:  Digital teams (Commercial, Product, Engineering, Implementation, Support) and Supply Chain operations

External:  External vendors, specific to choosing the products that will be used in the engineering of the device.  

       

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of RF systems / Antenna design and development experience

• System level RF modelling

• Experienced in RF testing to optimize Antenna design, placement, etc.

• PCB schematic capture, layout, and rapid prototyping experience.

• Experience with different wireless technologies such as WiFi, Bluetooth / BLE, Cellular and GNSS.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, logic/protocol analyzers for debugging embedded systems at HW level

• Experience with IoT Tracking products and solutions

• Experience with large production manufacturing and rollout of hardware devices.

• Experience with system bring-up, manufacturing end-of-line testing.

• Experience with mechanical CAD and simulations tools for RF / Antenna design.

EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of RF systems / Antenna design and development experience

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Proven technical skills related to RF systems / Antenna design for wireless and tracking technologies.

• Support all phases of hardware development – including early architecture requirements definition, EVT, DVT, PVT.

• Strong communication skills with customer facing experience
