Rides Senior Supervisor - $21.50/HR-$22.50/HR

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Coordinating the daily operation of divisions of rides, and administering daily assignments for the team

· Achieving, receiving, and maintaining certifications on all rides in section

· Complying with and enforcing all aspects of the Rides training program, including the daily application and supervision of all training procedures, policies, and documentation

· Writing and updating a divisional schedule; assisting in specialized recruiting when appropriate

· Answering guest questions

· Motivating and interacting with Area Supervisors, Unit Supervisors, Operators, and Attendants

· Coaching Area/Unit Supervisors and Team Members to monitor efficiency standards and achieve optimum throughput on all rides

· Auditing the skills and performance of department Team Members and Unit Supervisors

· Coaching and developing Team Members on guest service, training, safety, and efficiency

· Overseeing the development of Unit Supervisors

· Completing and maintaining all formal documents and audit forms used on a daily basis in the department

· Enforcing all Six Flags Discovery Kingdom policies

· Assisting in other areas of the Rides Department

· Performing other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

 

Skills and Qualifications:

· At least 18 years of age

· Be able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and understand the English language

· Previous rides experience

· Be available to work flexible hours at night, weekends and holidays

 

Other Functions: All other duties assigned or necessary to support the park as a whole. EXPERIENCE Previous Ride Operator experience. Area Supervisor experience preferred.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES Must possess above average communication skills. Must react well in stressful and emergency situations. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED Will work with and under the close Supervision of the Rides Management Team.

ERRORS/SAFETY Errors in performance, mismanaged paperwork, improper training, or failure to adhere to and enforce Operations policies as stated in any Standard Operating Procedures Manual may result in injuries or fatalities to yourself or others. Errors in performance of job duties will result in disciplinary action leading up to and including termination as stated in the park’s Progressive Discipline Policy.

CONTACT WITH OTHERS Direct and continuous interaction with guests, team members, Unit Supervisors, and Area Supervisors in the Rides Department.

CONFIDENTIAL DATA Access to confidential information such as reports, training documents, corporate training program, daily safety paperwork pertaining to an attraction, and park phone listings. High exposure to confidential data.

MENTAL OR VISUAL DEMAND Requires normal visual and mental demand.

PHYSICAL DEMAND · Requires continuous standing and/or sitting, bending, lifting, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing, and speech. · Requires frequent kneeling, manual dexterity, gross motor skills, and color definition. · Requires using a telephone and communication devices at attractions. · Must be able to stand/walk for up to 6 hours at a time and as many as 14 hours a day · Must be able to lift 15 lbs consistently · Must be able to lift and carry 15 lbs over 25 feet over various surfaces. · Must be able to lift and lower 5 lbs above shoulder level · Must be able to climb a stepladder up to 6 ft. in height.

WORKING CONDITIONS Continuously works outdoors and closely with others. Exposure to direct sunlight, dust, dirt, and /or water. Must be able to function in all weather conditions for long periods of time.
