As a part of Compression Systems Engineering, the Senior Principal Engineer will provide leadership to the HPC Rig Module team for Adaptive Military Engines. You will assist with day to day leadership of all aspects of engineering, procurement, quality, and customer service of Adaptive Compressor Rigs and be responsible to the engine Integrated Product Management Team, Module Center Management and Engineering leadership. You will report directly and function as Sr. IPTL to the Adaptive HPC CIPT Leader.

What You Will Do

All component product validation and operational safety issues, waterline process and the ability to leverage organizational knowledge to monitor, identify & incorporate fixes to issues efficiently and effectivelyOverall CIPT performance/effectiveness by collaborating with CIPT lead to develop and execute large scale plans (1-2 years) enabling strategic vision as well as overseeing CIPT alignment with technology development plans for HPC Secondary Flow RigAligning with the Program Chief Engineer and the Program Management Office to manage the budget and ensure milestones are met as well as budget ownership and earned value reporting responsibility and ensuring development goals are met on schedule and budgetPresenting status and issues to all levels within the company (internally) and externally to the Government customers. Also Organizes, prioritizes, and provides direction to responsible employees (in one or multiple scrum teams) that report to supporting organizations pivoting as required demonstrating adaptabilityLeading / ensuring risk analysis and gap closure plans are in place to address development issues. Views risks critically from total business perspective, identifies options, selects recommendation, and implements aligned recommendation quicklyWorking with part producers and suppliers, in collaboration with Module Center and Global Supply Chain, to address all producibility issues in a timely manner and that hardware is delivered per schedule requirements

Qualifications You Must Have

BS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of technical engineering experience ORAdvanced degree with 7+ years of technical engineering experienceU.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)

Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.

Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.

Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering executes both military and commercial repair design and repairs substantiations for engines. We create and improve ASE business and repair development tools. We design, develop, and qualify military repair tooling.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
 

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
