We are seeking a Rigger for work in Norco, LA. The Rigger position assembles rigging to lift and move equipment or material on maintenance and construction projects. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures \/ work is checked frequently.\n\nDuration: 2 months\n12 hours shifts - 7 days a week \nPer diem is available\n\n

Essential Qualifications: \n\nHigh school or equivalent\nOne (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)\nKnowledge of all types of slings\/chokers\nMust ensure all rigging hardware and slings meet the Turner quarterly inspection criteria\nSome jobsites may require NCCER certification for this craft\nWritten pre-employment qualification test\nPost-offer drug\/alcohol screen and physical evaluation\nHazard Communication orientation\/test\nTurner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination\nOSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)\nJob site orientation\nJob site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)\nSafety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)\nApplicant\/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace\n\n

Functional Requirements:\n\nSelects cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved.\nAttaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, with bolts and clamps.\nAttaches load to crane hook with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains.\nGives directions to equipment operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads.\nEnsures the safety of workers and material handlers using hand signals, loudspeaker, or telephone.\nSets up, braces and rigs hoisting equipment.\nSplices rope and wire to repair slings and tackles.\nMay direct workers engaged in hoisting of machinery and equipment into ships, railroad cars or trucks.\nPerform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.\n\n
