The Opportunity

As part of our Maintenance group and reporting to the Track Manager, the Right of Way Coordinator is responsible for leading our track maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities and Functions

Provide direct leadership, oversight and guidance to a team of Assistant Track Supervisors, Track Foremen, Welders, Operators, Flagmen and Track Maintainers;Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of inspections, maintenance and repair activities;Identify work requirements, prioritize and plan maintenance activities with the assistance of his subordinates and monitor the execution and progression of plans;Ensure that the work performed is completed in accordance with regulatory requirements and all applicable standards, with a high degree of quality;Ensure that all necessary inspections and testing are performed as per requirements;Act as a leader in terms of safety, providing guidance and information on safety practices, procedures or policies;Perform efficiency and operational testing in the field and follow-up on non-compliances and corrective actions;Maintain steady interaction and reporting with the customer, as needed;

Required Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of management experience in the field of railway maintenance operationsA minimum of five (5) years of experience as a certified Track Foreman;Track inspection guidelines (TIG) qualified and certified, with experience in track inspection (minimum 5 years).Familiar with Transport Canada track safety rules, and other applicable regulations;Ontario driver’s license of the class appropriate for the vehicle(s) they are to operate.Demonstrated experience in managing work crews;Able to efficiently delegate responsibilities and monitor progression of delegated tasksThorough understanding of Engineering Track Standards and Track Safety regulations;Strong Leadership and Management Skills;Highly organized and flexible;Team player with the ability to train, supervise coach other employees;Self-motivation and distinctive assertiveness;Good written and verbal skills;Good Skills in MS Office, SharePoint;Ability to work under pressure and take ownership of escalating issues;
