Risk and Safety Manager

SUMMARY The Risk and Safety Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of risk management and safety programs across all company operations and client sites. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of both Risk Management principles and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) regulations with the ability to tailor strategies to meet the unique processes, procedures, and challenges faced by diverse clients. The Risk and Safety Manager will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. + Develop and implement comprehensive risk management and safety strategies and programs that align with the company objectives and meet regulatory requirements. + Ensure all operations comply with relevant EHS law and regulations. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures. + Facilitate risk management programs to mitigate company risks that may affect the organization’s reputation and stability. + Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that risk management strategies align with the Company’s objectives and are implemented effectively. + Develop and implement safety and risk management policies and procedures, identifying, evaluating, and managing potential risk that could hinder reputation, safety and security. + Conduct regular risk assessments, audits and create/analyze risk reports. Develop risk mitigation strategies and processes, coordinating with other departments to gather information on potential risks. + Provide training to staff about risk management, promoting a culture of risk awareness within the organization. + Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders about risk management activities and emerging risk. + Understand and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to EHS and risk management. Communicate with external auditors and regulators about EHS and risk management policies and practices. + Collaborate closely with clients to understand their unique EHS challenges, providing expert advice and tailored solutions to ensure satisfaction and compliance. + Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, including training and drills, to ensure preparedness for EHS incidents. + Proactively lead sustainability initiatives, promoting environmental stewardship and resource conservation across all operations and client sites. + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. + Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. + Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. + Other duties as assigned Qualifications + Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Risk Management, Construction Management, or Occupational Safety or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + 4-6 years of experience as an occupational health, safety and risk manager with demonstrable dept in understanding of health, safety and risk legal guidelines + OSHA 30 certified (ASP or CSP certification preferred) + Proven track record of developing and implementing successful Risk and EHS programs in complex and dynamic environments. + Strong planning, problem solving, troubleshooting, project management and leadership skills. + Thorough Knowledge of OSHA regulations (federal, state and local) and industry best practices. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with clients. + Spanish Speaking/Bilingual preferred. + Outstanding organizational and time management skills; meticulous with documentation and record keeping + Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation in EHS practices. + Ability to travel 25-30% CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS + OSHA 30-required + Associate Safety Professional (preferred) + Certified Safety Professional (highly preferred) EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE + Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. + Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
