Risk Consulting Analyst Intern - Chicago - 2025

The Summer Program provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to our business during a robust 10-week program. At the end of the summer, high-performing colleagues will be considered for offers for the full time Associates Program.

Marsh Advisory Associate Program is a two-year rotational program designed to provide you with the consulting toolkit you will need to accelerate your career at Marsh. As part of the program, you will be exposed to a variety of risk advisory disciplines, including Strategic risk, Claims, Loss control, and Analytics.  Specific projects can include emerging risk quantification (e.g. cyber risk); Environmental, social and governance consulting (e.g. climate materiality assessment); Enterprise risk management; Business continuity planning; Property risk engineering; Ergonomics, Health & Safety; Digital application and product development; as well as Forensic accounting services. You will be part of challenging projects, get access to professional development opportunities, participate in client meetings, gain broad business exposure to the firm’s leadership and talented team, and more!

EDUCATION

Must be enrolled full time at a 4-year accredited university/college in one of the following degree programs:

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational and Environmental Health SciencesBachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences (core focus in Occupational Health and Safety)Bachelor of Science in Human Factors Engineering

RESPONSIBILITIES

Working knowledge of health and safety legislation interpretation and application including OSHA standards, NIOSH, and others as necessaryPerforms analyses of compliance with safety regulations and procedures instituted by OSHA with oversight from a senior consultant.Analyzing workers compensation, auto and general liability loss runs and creating story board for consultants.Evaluate existing safety-related policies and training programs and create content for OSH programs.Perform site assessments and can recognize, monitor, and make recommendations to ensure that workplace safety hazards are corrected through on-site audits, consulting, ergonomic assessments, and interventions according to OSHA and other regulatory agencies.Participate in accident investigations.Facilitate workshops and training events focused on leadership and safety culture.Manage client accounts and develop relationships to identify wider opportunities.Supporting project managers in requested activities such as research for information, writing reportsAssisting in day-to-day activities of the departmentAssisting with industrial hygiene (IH) assessments such as air monitoring and noise surveys, radiological health badges, and job hazard analysis

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
