Risk Data Analyst, supports East West Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) second line of defense (2LOD) by providing solutions on risk data, analysis and reporting needs.  Responsibilities include producing intelligence through querying data repositories, generating periodic reports, and identifying risk trends through quantitative and qualitative analysis. This position will also implement analytical approaches and methodologies, assist in the interpretation of results, and present reports to senior management and the Board for use in decision making and strategic planning through increased process automation related to data and reporting across business lines to maximize productivity.  Hire will also perform other duties/projects as needed.

Responsibilities Define and maintain risk reporting framework to support the monitoring and management of risk reporting oversight and monitoring activities for applicable Risk categoriesEngage with internal and external stakeholders to understand needs and ensure reporting and outputs are in alignment to key risk programsResponsible for design, implementation and maintenance of intuitive dashboards that deliver valuable insights for enabling data-driven decision making and automation of processesResponsible for periodic risk reporting and analysis to support 2LOD Risk Reporting Workstream and various risk and compliance programsWork with multiple business units to aggregate and analyze data while fostering good working relationships to meet expected service levelsDevelop and report metrics and key measures consistent with bank's Risk Management Framework, ensuring uniform reporting throughout all 2nd line risk functionsLead efforts involving analysis and reporting of risk profile, control performance, and benchmark process performance against Key Risk Indicators and Risk Appetite Metrics, highlighting any exceptions or areas of concernDevelop aggregated view for all divisions covered by 2LOD Workstream and other materials as neededCollaborate with 1LOD to support target operating model of risk reporting and analyticsDiscover patterns, insights, trends and anomalies from straightforward analyses, data sets and visualization tools and present recommendations for action based on a data-driven analysisUnderstands concepts of data lineage and data stewardship in order to develop effective data analytics that provide the insightsIdentify data quality issues and concerns and support data governance initiativesParticipate in risk mitigation development to ensure that strategies are in place to maintain risk profile within established limitsReport on existing and emerging areas of risk, implications of risk appetite and tolerance, and the ability of the risk management and control infrastructure to support business activitiesUtilize analytical tools and methodologies to support analysis of internal and external risk metricsParticipate in workshops and lead activities on key business initiatives, ensuring that existing and emerging risks for new products, processes and transformational initiatives are identified Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Master's Degree preferred)Minimum 3 years of experience in one or a combination of reporting and analyticsMinimum 2 years of experiaence with SQL or other data management, reporting and query tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)Minimum 2 years of experience in one or a combination banking and risk management

Skills & Knowledge

Detail-oriented, strong analytical and effective organizational skills, with emphasis on data reporting and analysisAbility to effectively manage projectsHands on experience gathering requirements, designing and constructing new reports, maintaining and enhancing existing reports, and dashboard designReport development experience utilizing Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), PowerBI, Tableau, or similar report development softwareAdvanced experience designing and generating scheduled and ad hoc reports using reporting/query toolsUnderstanding of banking processes and risk management programsAbility to handle complexity and ambiguityMust have excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of the organization Compensation The base pay range for this position is USD $67,000.00/Yr. - USD $80,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
