Summary Risk & Insurance Analyst / Analyst, Senior Join our team as a Risk & Insurance Analyst / Senior Analyst at Pinnacle West Capital Corporation, where you will play a vital role in managing and optimizing risk and insurance programs across the enterprise, including APS, PVNGS, non-utility subsidiaries, and joint ventures. In this role, you’ll collaborate with key stakeholders, providing expert consultation and technical guidance to mitigate risks and ensure the financial protection of our business. What You Will Do: + Risk & Insurance Program Management: Develop, implement, and administer comprehensive risk and insurance programs to manage property, casualty, and nuclear exposures for Pinnacle West and its subsidiaries. + Consultation & Technical Guidance: Provide expert consultation and leadership to internal teams and joint venture participants in evaluating risk treatment options and implementing the best risk management strategies. + Insurance & Retention Programs: Design and maintain effective insurance and retention programs that align with organizational goals and protect against potential losses. + Risk Evaluation & Mitigation: Analyze risks across various operational areas and collaborate with departments to implement risk mitigation strategies that safeguard company assets and operations. + Collaboration with Stakeholders: Partner with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on risk management objectives and insurance coverage needs. + Continuous Improvement: Stay current on industry trends and emerging risks to enhance our risk management approach and ensure our programs remain robust and competitive. Minimum Requirements Risk & Insurance Analyst / Analyst, Senior + BS/BA degree AND three (3) years experience in underwriting commercial property and casualty insurance and/or corporate risk management. + OR Associates degree and five years experience in underwriting commercial property and casualty insurance and/or corporate risk management. + High School Diploma AND seven (7) years recent experience in underwriting commercial property and casualty insurance and/or corporate risk management. + Demonstrated knowledge of insurance and risk management principles. DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS + Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint + Experience with modeling/statistical software such as Palisades @Risk or similar + Experience with risk management information systems + Experience placing and administering commercial insurance portfolios + BS/BA in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Economics or similar discipline Major Accountabilities 1) Under general direction, administers property, casualty, and nuclear insurance programs by analysis and quality control of insurance policies, underwriting information, and maintenance of financial records. 2) Consult with clients to ensure loss exposures are identified and evaluated. Provide technical guidance to clients and other departments under general direction. 3) Develop and implement optimum risk treatment methods by qualitative and quantitative analysis of options. 4) Prepare, audit and track budgets and costs for management approval, business units, and joint ventures. 5) Coordinate and oversee loss control evaluations as required by insurance contracts. May be assigned to lead projects.
