As a Credit Officer - Executive Director within Wholesale Credit Risk team, you will play a significant role in managing risk and supporting the Real Estate Banking line of business. Your responsibilities will include leading and managing the overall risk management process for the South Region of Real Estate Banking, which includes analyzing credit risk and monitoring portfolio performance on an ongoing basis. Job Responsibilities
Take ownership of the approval process for new loans, modifications, risk grades and annual reviews. Provide thoughtful recommendations to business partners and senior management on transactions during the prescreen, structuring, approval-to-pitch process. Have a strong understanding of third-party reports, construction loan documents, complex structuring and loan negotiation in order to provide expert guidance and sound judgement throughout the loan closing and monitoring process. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the firm's risk management and control policies and guidelines to ensure compliance and support effective decision-making. Utilize assigned credit authority throughout the loan origination and monitoring phases of assigned portfolio. Closely monitor the commercial real estate industry and overall economic/business environment in order to identify and elevate potential material issues, risks, and trends in the portfolio to Senior Management. Collaborate in periodic portfolio deep dives and reviews with Senior Management. Manage and develop junior Credit Officers and Analysts. Oversee and drive ad hoc risk-related projects and workflows. Drive efficiency with existing technical infrastructure through automation while embracing innovative opportunities offered by new technologies. Master’s or Bachelor’s degree required. 8+ years in a similar banking or credit role, with a track record of exceeding performance expectations. Proven superior skills in commercial real estate transaction structuring, complex finance structures, negotiating, credit analysis, and portfolio management with experience synthesizing information, developing recommendations, making decisions, and problem solving Advanced knowledge of the commercial real estate industry and the commensurate capital and financial markets. Superior understanding of real estate market dynamics and economic drivers. Outstanding professional reputation and integrity. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and train a team. Strong presentation, business writing, and communication skills.
