Job Description/ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include the process of identifying, measuring and managing insurable or hazard risks, developing reports and plans and analyzing risk/insurance problems and manage the implementation of the risk solutions that help optimize operations. Responsibilities also include the following regarding property and casualty insurance programs: manage the purchase of insurance, management of claims and loss control activities, management of relationships with third party service providers including brokers and insurers, preparing loss analyses and budgets, identifying exposures, recommending solutions, implementing and managing successful completion of approved risk management plans, promoting loss prevention throughout the global footprint of the organization, updating and monitoring compliance with insurance procedures.
Use PDS to enhance performance within the company through evaluation, planning, and goal execution. Strive to constantly develop oneself as a valuable asset through personal and professional growth and attention to the position’s outcomes.Utilize PPT as a task/project management tool where and when appropriate. Use PPT to accelerate progress on projects, identify / keep in contact with team members and make sure all projects are up to date.Work in conjunction with the Director of Risk Management, EHS, plant manager and internal constituency to obtain the info needed for property and casualty renewals, assist in the handling of property and casualty claims within the organization and organize and report on progress of CAPEX to be spent to improve overall asset quality and insurability.Working in conjunction with our brokers and any other third parties, design and implement insurance policies which reduce our overall insurance expense while maintaining consistent and adequate protection of assets. Use innovative and creative solutions, including the use of captives to reverse rising insurance premiums.Develop key broker and insurance company relationships and secure high level of suppport from key relationshipsWork in conjunction with the Director of Risk Management, EHS Managers and plant managers to develop safety programs which would include safety training initiatives, written safety programs and rules tailored to the work of individual departments and continue to enhance the workplace safety.Assist in the development of more effective and streamlined insurance placement processes, management of claims as well as risk identification and mitigation programs which will protect our people and our assets.Compile and prepare various reports required by external and internal clients with 100% accuracy and within the time frame requested.Utilize CDS system to identify training needs and design development curriculum, programs and content for the purpose of preparing for career opportunities within the company. Provide feedback to manager regarding on-the-job learning opportunities.
