**Position Overview:**
Support Medical Group Risk Management Department including managing third party and non-defense legal matters on behalf of Med Group and its clinicians. Collaborates and supports Risk Management Department by identifying and controlling risks and reducing and eliminating the possibility of losses associated with clinician healthcare delivery and related core business activities. Collaborates with affiliate and system leadership in developing and executing proactive patient safety focused risk management, risk mitigation, and loss prevention programs. Develop a collaborative relationship with other members of the medical group in order to ensure risk, legal, and regulatory concerns are addressed properly.

**EDUCATION:**
_Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma._
+ Bachelor's in Business, Healthcare Administration, Risk Management, Nursing or related field
+ Preferred: Active California State Bar license
**CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:**
+ CPHRM - Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management within 18 months
**TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:**
8 years of recent relevant experience
**SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:**
+ Knowledge of healthcare-related state and federal law and regulations including professional standards
+ Knowledge and expertise with legal and regulatory documents including summons and complaints, Subpoenas, medical board inquires
+ Knowledge of medical malpractice defense including supporting physicians through legal processes
+ Knowledge of methods used to identify and develop solutions to loss and risk control problems
+ Broad knowledge of healthcare risk identification and control methods, loss reduction and prevention activities, and claims management
+ Practical knowledge of healthcare quality review/improvement and accreditation processes
+ Broad knowledge of risk management best practices and methods used to limit exposure liability and risk
+ Proven ability to effectively and independently utilize consultative skills and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships
+ Demonstrate capability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner with leaders, staff and clinicians
+ Proven ability to communicate and mobilize staff in order to implement risk management strategies
+ Demonstrated ability to identify risks, review past incidents, and liability claims and make recommendations to minimize risk
+ Basic computer literacy, including knowledge of word processing, email, and use of the internet
+ Preferred clinical knowledge

Pay Range is $73.69 to $110.54 / hour
_The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
