Risk Specialist

Job Title - Sr Risk Specialist
Job Location - Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Birmingham, or Dallas expectation would be 3 days in office - hybrid is preferred
Job Duration – Contract to Hire

This position is contract with the right to hire if a need becomes available. Manager will only look at candidates that are open to converting to a full time PNC employee. PNC will not sponsor work visas if the decision is made to hire the contingent worker.


Candidate preferred industry background: Technology risk and operational risk background required

Candidate Technical and skills profile:

Key responsibilities:

• Executes the Technology Risk Management program, identifying opportunities for enhancement where applicable. Enables Technology and Line of Business adherence with Technology risk management programs.

Supports execution of the Technology risk management program to meet business and regulatory expectations. Leads in the design and development of technology controls for specific technology risk management program components. Review current controls and how does it manage PNC risk appropriately

Executes the technology risk management programs within or across Technology and the Lines of Business (e.g. - Technology and Line of Business risk and control self-assessments and technology quality assurance reviews). May lead cross functional teams. Reviewing and updating where necessary.

Provides Technology risk expertise while working with Technology teams, and other risk partners (e.g., Independent Risk Management, Compliance, Audit).

Manages matters and issues to completion while meeting deadlines.

Leads or influences technology risk initiatives and business as usual activities. Identifies risk, assesses impact and makes recommendations on resolution. Reports and escalates risk and program compliance as appropriate.

Must have technical skills/experience (ask for alternative/tool/version):
• Experience with the creation review/maintenance in the operational/technology risk programs
• Proficient in power point, excel, SharePoint
• GRC tool experience
• Development and management of internal risks and controls
• ServiceNow (not development)
• Experience with technology risk within Financial institutions
• Microsoft Office Suite
• 1st Line of Defense risk experience

Flex Skills:
• Proficient in Visio
• Proficient in Tableau
• Coso certification
• Analytical background/data proficiencies (data mapping)
• Experience with KY3P (know your third party)
CISA and/or CRISC certs

Soft skills that would make a candidate successful in this role:
• Great communication
• Self-starter
• able to work independently
• Group setting work
• Ability to communicate with executive audiences
• Able to abide by timelines and escalate accordingly
• Good time management

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience - ISACA certifications - nice to have

Years of experience: Level 3 5-7 years
