Position Title: Specialist, Risk


Department: Legal Services


Purpose: Maintain the Risk Management and Insurance Program at Genesis Health System. Serve as liaison and
resource to Genesis Health System in the identification and assessment of loss prevention issues, insurance coverage and the managing of claims and lawsuits. Develop and implement risk management
educational programs for Genesis Health System. Complete investigation of events to include interviews, medical record review, evaluation, and settlement negotiations. Facilitate teams, including, but not limited to Root Cause Analysis. Consult with insurance brokers on insurance issues and assist with the
insurance renewal process.

Reports to: Vice President, Legal Affairs

Supervisory Responsibility: Guidance: The job requires the provision of occasional guidance and training to others. The job does not have formal or official supervisory responsibilities.

Materials Responsibilities: Limited: Work requires limited responsibility for material resources. Examples of resources could include supplies, equipment, inventories, small budgets, and other similar material assets.
The employee has a limited amount of control over these resources. The cost of errors is also limited in terms of damage, waste or financial loss. Problems associated with material resources are not complex. The volume of resources may vary, but the level of difficulty in dealing with
these resources is uncomplicated.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's Degree Field OF Study: Nursing, or related field
Special Training: Basic Life Support and CPI within 60 days


Training Preferred: Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) strongly preferred via one of the following licensing groups: APC, CASC, NACC, and NAJC


Licensures/Registration: N/A


Experience: More than 3 years experience required.


Interpersonal Skills: Interaction is with a wide variety of people inside or outside the organization. Communications are often extremely difficult or stressful in nature. Contact with others involves highly complex and sensitive topics. The job requires extremely well developed interpersonal skills for dealing
with a range of complicated problem situations. The job requires the use of diverse communication techniques.

Working Condition: There are little or no adverse environmental conditions to consider.
