Responsibilities

Operates a mobile drilling machine to drill predetermined blast hole patterns; may drill back holes for roof bolt ground support; replaces broken or worn bits and steel using hand tools.  Lubricates the equipment and maintains a record of work performed.  Drills predetermined holes to collect the dust for quality samples, which are taken as requested. Equipment problems identified are reported to the Mine Manager, shift supervisor and other appropriate personnel.  Participate in the implementation of safety programs to ensure the safety of employees. 
Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply, Inc. Conduct daily safety assignments  Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. Perform pre-shift inspections on all equipment.   Understand and adhere to all Government Regulations. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1-2 years of experience operating a drill. Able to participate and engage in the safety process Able to work independently with attention to detail. Able to follow direction and work effectively in a team environment. Able to respond to stressful situations and customers in a professional, courteous manner. Ability to effectively prioritize assignments to meet long-term and short-term deadlines. High school Diploma or GED equivalent
