**Job Description:** Unpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles. Provide comfort to patients and guest by providing visits with pets Applicants are by invitation only and must be certified by either Pet Partners of Utah or Intermountain Therapy Animals. Certified animal therapy animal teams provide diversion, motivation and non-threatening social interactions to patients, families and hospital staff. Pet teams will be visiting patients in rooms and waiting areas. Volunteers may to choose the day and time they would like to volunteer. (not all days and times may be available.) **Qualifications:** + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills + Sensitive to patient and family situations / dynamics + Customer Service/Hospitality + Must be at least 18 years old + Must have your own pet + Pets must have a pet therapy certification + Pets must be up to date on all vaccinations + Pets must be bathed within 24 hours of visiting the hospital Requirements: A consecutive 80-hour (6-month) commitment, which entails volunteering one day per week for 3-4 hours; Completing a Background check, TB Test, Immunization Check; Pass a drug screening, must be fully vaccinated, including an annual flu vaccine. Qualified volunteers will receive an e-mail inviting them to a Volunteer Introduction/Orientation Meeting.
