10A is an acute care unit for the Emergency General Surgery Service. The unit is also designated as overflow for the Trauma and Vascular Services. The patient population includes primarily complicated abdominal surgeries for conditions such as necrotizing pancreatitis and entercutaneous fistulas, colectomies; and complications of prior surgeries. Other diagnoses include necrotizing fasciitis, complicated appendectomies, bowel obstructions, diabetic ulcers, necrotic venous ulcerations, ischemic arterial ulcers, plus various traumatic injuries that may occur during MVC or falls.

Function/Duties of Position

$8,000 Hiring Bonus for candidates with at least (1) year acute care hospital registered nurse experience. Must begin work by June 30, 2025 to qualify.

$52.11- $86.81 per hour, based on RN Degree and level of experience.

Required Qualifications BSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start dateADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start dateAssociate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License BLS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) BLS must not expire during orientation  Ability to perform the job duties with or without accommodation

Length of Orientation 

Experienced Nurse (Fellowship or Specialty Fellowship) with more than 1 year of experience:Either Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Learning Pathway or Orientation experience individualized to the candidate between 2-12 weeks.
