We provide life-saving treatment to the seriously ill and injured 24 hours a day, with an adjacent Urgent Care department seeing lower acuity patients 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care to patients as well as indirect care within the Emergency Department as well as oversees unit operations for a shift when functioning as charge nurse. We are a Level IV trauma center and an Acute Stroke Ready hospital. We provide life-saving treatment to the seriously ill and injured 24 hours a day, with an adjacent Urgent Care department seeing lower acuity patients 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. Schedule: This position is full time time; 72 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 12 hours on the day/night shift. Weekends: Every third weekend. Demonstrating awareness of age-specific criteria in obtaining assessment data. Identifying patient needs and/or nursing diagnosis based on analysis of collected data and incorporates into an individualized plan of care. Analyzing assessment data, identifying problems and developing the plan of care in collaboration with the patient, significant other and resource personnel. Providing age specific direct patient care in collaboration with all disciplines according to standards of care. Recognizing and reporting adverse patient condition to the physician in a timely manner. Registered Nurse (RN) Job Qualifications Current Emergency Department Charge Nurse Qualified. Current Minnesota RN licensure. Current BLS certification required and maintains certification. Current ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certification or attains ACLS and PALS prior to the end of orientation and TNCC within 1 year.
