RN, Periop Fellowship, Overlook Medical Center

This program is integrated with AORN’s Periop 101 program which features online courses, instructor-led classes and a skills lab. This is followed by a 6-month rotation in both the Scrub and Circulator Nurse role. 

A Periop 101 certificate with 40 continuing education credits will be awarded after successful completion of modules and final exam.

Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. Monitors patients, administers medications, keeps records, consults with healthcare providers, educates patients and more.


Principal Accountabilities:

1. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served.
2. Collaborates with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
3. Demonstrates and embraces the PRIDE core values (Professionalism, Respect, Involvement, Dignity and Excellence) in every aspect of the job.
4. Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
5. Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications for Internal Candidates
1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing, preferred.
2. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse and BLS certification.
