RN | Mental Health | 13 Week Travel Assignment
Position: Travel Registered Nurse Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama Weekly Pay: $2,299 Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a full-time Travel Registered Nurse for a client in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This role requires at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a psychiatric setting. Additional compensation for lodging, meals, and incidentals is available. Schedule: + 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM and/or 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Monday to Friday (8-hour shifts) + 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM every third weekend (12-hour shifts) + Rotating third weekend is determined by initial schedule placement + Holidays as needed + Based on patient needs + Overtime may be possible on an as-needed basis Requirements: + Active, unrestricted Alabama state RN license or compact state license + CPR/BLS certification + Minimum of 1 year of experience in a dedicated mental health or psychiatric setting + Ability to recognize medical and psychiatric emergencies + Effective communication skills, both verbal and written + Ability to interact with various types of people in delicate, frustrating, or tense situations + Ability to make independent decisions and take moderate risks in situations not covered by existing procedures + Proficiency in providing care utilizing nursing processes, standards of care, and nursing plans of care + Supervisory skills + Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and training programs and establish priorities + Ability to operate medical equipment + Ability to provide education to patients Responsibilities: + Promote a program environment conducive to patient stabilization and growth + Complete assessments of patients + Plan effective therapeutic programs for patients + Develop and implement patient care plans + Supervise program staff + Communicate appropriately with patients and families + Monitor the environment for safety + Communicate patient data to appropriate team members + Participate in meetings, staff development trainings, and continuing education opportunities as required + Administer medication and treatment as prescribed + Provide basic direct patient care + Ensure compliance with hospital standards Competencies: + Working knowledge of medical terminology and patient care + Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task + Detail-oriented with superior follow-through skills + Ability to interact with all levels of personnel + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Strong computer skills; proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel + Strong data entry skills; must have speed and accuracy Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
