Job Summary The Medical-Surgical RN is responsible to assess, plan, and implement quality care to each patient admitted to the Medical-Surgical Unit of The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. The patient population will include patients from infancy to geriatric who present with either medical or pre/post surgical problems/needs. The RN acts in a clinical leadership role and assists with other related duties as assigned. Reports to the Director of Acute Care Nursing. Exhibits F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service and Trust). Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort   Physical stamina necessary to stand or walk for long periods of time. Frequent bending and stooping, reaching, lifting, and turning of patients.  Must be able to move or position 25 pounds independently. Risk of physical strain, stress and assault. Risk of exposure to infectious diseases/conditions. Risk of injury related to use of potentially dangerous equipment. Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents Education: Graduate of an accredited ADN nursing program.   Experience: Previous experience preferred but will consider new graduate. Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations Current license in the state of Kentucky. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (successful completion within three [3] months of employment).
