+ Job Summary
+ The Medical-Surgical RN is responsible to assess, plan, and implement quality care to each patient admitted to the Medical-Surgical Unit of The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. The patient population will include patients from infancy to geriatric who present with either medical or pre/post surgical problems/needs. The RN acts in a clinical leadership role and assists with other related duties as assigned. Reports to the Director of Acute Care Nursing. Exhibits F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service and Trust).
+ Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort
+ + Physical stamina necessary to stand or walk for long periods of time.
+ Frequent bending and stooping, reaching, lifting, and turning of patients. Must be able to move or position 25 pounds independently.
+ Risk of physical strain, stress and assault.
+ Risk of exposure to infectious diseases/conditions.
+ Risk of injury related to use of potentially dangerous equipment.
+ Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents
+ Education: Graduate of an accredited ADN nursing program.
+
+ Experience: Previous experience preferred but will consider new graduate.
+ Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
+ Current license in the state of Kentucky. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (successful completion within three [3] months of employment). ACLS and PALS certification required within SIX (6) months of hire and renewed every two (2) years.
