Position Summary

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides quality nursing care through the application of the nursing process using evidence based practice focusing on excellent outcomes and patient experience within the framework of Shared Governance. Qualifications   Minimum Education: Required: All hires are required to have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Associates Degree in Nursing with at least 2 years of Emergency Room RN experience.  Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation): Required: One year previous acute care Emergency Department nursing experience. License, Registry or Certification: Required: Current NJ RN licensure. Certifications in American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC upon hire.   Crisis Prevention (CPI) training within 6 months of hire, education provided by HMC. Preferred: Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or other related specialty certification. Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Required: Complete Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation upon hire. Stroke training 8 hours per year, Sexual Assault and Trauma training is required within 1 year of hire. Preferred: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) is recommended.
