RN-Acute Care Dialysis
Overview Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Adult Acute Dialysis Department at University of Minnesota East Bank. This also includes call of covering 4 of our hospital locations- at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank and West Bank locations in Minneapolis, MN, and both Bethesda Hospital and Woodwinds Hospitals. Our Dialysis Nursing team delivers direct clinical dialysis care to inpatient acute patients, hemodialysis patients, peritoneal dialysis patients, and CRRT patients. Schedule: This position will be working a .6 FTE. This will be a day and evening shift position, 10 hour shifts, weekend as needed. About Our Adult Acute Dialysis Department at UMMC East Bank Our team works closely with nephrologists, fellows, residents and nephrology PAs to assure quality dialysis therapy, and comprehensive care of ESRD patients. We also provide hemodialysis treatments and PD treatments, and we have a rotation of on-call hours so there is 24/7 dialysis services coverage. EKG, acute care experience and ESRD knowledge and critical thinking skills are important to be successful in this position. Responsibilities Job Description As a Dialysis RN, you will be responsible for: Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes; Initiating dialysis therapies; Completing assessments of patient during dialysis; Developing an individualized nursing plan of care; Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care; Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes; Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes; Demonstrating the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes; and Promoting a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities.
