Indian River Hospital's 3E Additional Care/Telemetry Overflow Unit cares for cardiac patients and monitors their heart rhythms. As an RN in this unit, you may assist with cleaning and shaving patients' skin to place electrodes, replace electrodes daily, change batteries in a telemetry device, and explain telemetry to patients. A nurturing, encouraging and supportive attitude can leave a lasting impression on all those you encounter daily. **A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM - 7:00AM.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide direct nursing care. + Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. + Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions. + Administer prescribed medications and treatments. + Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. + Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs. + Educate patients and their families. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) + One year of current acute care RN experience.
