Job Description

The Admissions & Marketing RN collects and organizes clinical information from referral sources to facilitate patient admissions to the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Unit located within Northwest Health Medical Center, as well as develops and executes marketing plans to bring in new referrals and accounts for admissions. Works with liaison team on marketing projects, organization meetings, goal setting and growth opportunities. 

This opportunity operates on a Monday-Friday work schedule, 40 hours per week.

Requires an active RN license within the State of Arkansas or the ability to obtain licensure by endorsement. 3 years RN experience required in acute care setting, bedside experience in inpatient acute physical medicine and rehab nursing strongly preferred, and marketing experience or courses taken preferred. 

Work duties include but are not limited to: 

Serving as a point of contact for the admissions office within the physical medicine and rehabilitation unit. Maintains contact with referral sources answering questions, making/returning phone calls, responding to email messages, coordinating clinical information with the admissions team and the referral source in an efficient and timely manner. Assists with marketing and liaison team Maintains accurate, complete, and updated records regarding pre admission and admission information and screening.Interacts in a professional manner with high levels of customer service with all members of the healthcare team and referral sources; seeks to develop and maintain these key relationships. Maintains organization of admissions records, insurance authorizations and information, length of stay extensions, and maintains referral source contacts. Utilizes multiple computer programs simultaneously to obtain and organize needed information including patient’s medical records efficiently. Coordinates obtaining clinical information and insurance verification including pre-authorization of services. Coordinates marketing events, weekly marketing plans, works to obtain new referral accounts, educates referral sources, patients and families on IRF qualifications, offerings, requirements and expectations, speaking engagements related to obtaining new referrals for admission to inpatient rehab. Must be a self starter able to complete tasks efficiently with a minimum of supervision and a great deal of accuracy. Must enjoy networking and working with people in a marketing setting. Must have astute nursing assessment skills. Must be confident in decision making abilities in nursing. Strong multi-tasking skills.  Performs other duties related to the unit and patient needs as assigned within the scope of a professional Registered Nurse. 

 

Required Qualifications:

RN licensure in the State of ArkansasExcellent written and verbal communication skills; must be comfortable interacting with all levels of the healthcare team including referral sources and insurance providers, and in marketing settings.Ability to listen attentively, to relate, and to respond to concerns in an appropriate manner. Excellent customer service skills and unit representation.Experience communicating in a professional manner with diverse groups of people from different geographic, socioeconomic, and professional backgrounds. Attention to detail essential, including proofreading documents and reviewing clinical information from electronic health records. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Computer literacy and proficiency with internet research and navigation. Strong organizational skills; must have ability to prioritize tasks for efficient time management and work with minimal supervision. 

 

Physical Requirements

Attending events where standing may be required for several hours at a time.Walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting as needed. Occasional moving/transporting/lifting up to 60 lbs. Driving extended periods of time weekly or less.
