RN Ambulatory - Peds Intensive Outpatient Program - Full Time - Days

The Registered Nurse is accountable to each patient and family member in the practice as well as each provider, co-worker, and ancillary staff.
Assess holistic needs of patients in the clinic and via triage of incoming calls and/or epic messages, and rooming. Serving as an advocate to plan, implement, and evaluate behavioral health treatment plans and goals.
Collaborate with physicians for behavioral health treatment plan development, medication refills, and lab results to plan patient care/treatment and to assure appropriate follow through according to provider orders and clinic protocol.
Demonstrates capability in the delivery of psychoeducaonal therapeuc group programming for pediatric paents.
Responsible for patient referral management, verification of insurance coverage and eligibility of requested services. Completes prior authorizations, assist with letters of appeal, and facilitates peer to peer reviews for insurance approval of IOP program services.
Facilitates patient case management duties such as coordination of care, educating patients and families, patient advocacy, scheduling of appointments, and connecting patients with community resources.
Complete all pertinent paperwork related to the care and treatment of patients; FMLA, school forms, consents, and releases of information.
Ability to recognize and initiate appropriate action in emergency situations, de-escalations, and positive suicide screenings while maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
Performs and documents nursing health assessments, provides patient and family orientation to the IOP program, facilitates completion of required forms and documentation upon each admission to the IOP program.
Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers and ancillary staff maintaining patient centered relationships.
Performs other duties as required.
Education: Degree in the field of nursing from a professional nursing school or university.
Skills: Passed State Board Exam for Registered Nurse and have current state license.
Years of Experience: 1- 2 years’ experience in ambulatory care, acute care pediatric, or psychiatric nursing. License: Ohio Board of Nursing
Certification: CPR
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate of professional school of nursing.
Skills: Must have strong organizational, computer and communication skills. Requires independent judgment and problem-solving abilities and effective interpersonal skills to interact both in person and by phone. Must keep patient information confidential as required by HIPAA and other research related requirements.
Years of Experience: 2-4 years’ experience in ambulatory care, acute care pediatric nursing, or psychiatric nursing. License: N/A
Certification: N/A
WORKING CONDITIONS
Personal Protective Equipment: Demonstrate knowledge of universal precautions and PPE. Must be able to tolerate use of contact precautions.
Physical Demands: Must be able to move about the office between workstations.
