As an RN in the Endoscopy Department, you will support intra-procedural patients and follow established standards, department guidelines and hospital policies and procedures. You will use strong assessment and critical thinking skills to collaborate with the multi-disciplinary to ensure patient advocacy and safety.
**A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM - 4:30PM and 6:30AM - 4:00PM.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Establish and maintain courteous and cooperative relations with patients and other users of the ASC.
+ Oversee the clinical practice of nursing in the ASC including assessing patient care needs and planning the delivery of care utilizing the nursing process in a variety of settings.
+ Direct other caregivers in providing patient care.
+ Report variances from standard practice to the Nurse Manager.
+ Develop educational material and provide health education to patients and families.
+ Process patients through the ASC.
+ Assess the level of personnel skills and the availability of resources to meet established patient outcomes.
+ Monitor and evaluate cost effective practices within the ASC.
+ Participate in the development and utilization of quality monitoring programs within the ASC.
+ Complete all mandatory nursing competencies and educational requirements within a defined time frame.
+ Participate in the preparation of staff development programs and identify self-learning needs, establish personal and professional goals to meet those needs, and evaluate attainment of set goals.
+ Demonstrate respect for the cultural and social differences that exist among people.
+ Maintain confidentiality of information regarding patients, families and staff members.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
+ Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
+ One year of clinical experience as a RN in a perioperative or critical care setting
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

**Physical Requirements:**
*Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
*Physical Demand in excess of those for Light Work
