Job Summary
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assist in the development of nursing care plans and perform a variety of both technical and routine nursing services consistent with such plans.
Essential Functions
Performs activities under the direction of the RN, per job description and after skill validation.Applies the Core concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care in practice and uses this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family.Performs routine bedside nursing activities including: bathing and personal grooming of patients; ambulating, moving and turning patients; assisting patients with bedpans or urinary devices; making patient beds and caring for personal property.Takes vital signs and records intake and output.Applies and changes sterile and non-sterile dressing using appropriate technique.Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered nurse. Documents in electronic medical record.Keeps professional nursing staff advised of current patient status as well as changes in patient condition as they occur.Assists in admitting, transferring, and discharging patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
QualificationsRequired High School Diploma or equivalent Required Enrolled in nursing schoolCRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required And CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association 180 Days
