Scope of work

The Assistant Nurse Manager is a first line manager in the administration of Ortho Surgery Services.  Assumes responsibility for patients, personnel and the environment with accountability for assigned unit.  Responsible for assisting the orientation and in-service education of the Ortho OR staff; responsible for quality assurance activities, policy and procedure revisions and infection control surveillance within the department.  Responsible in assisting with the Ortho OR staff schedule and for performance evaluations on assigned staff.

Qualifications

Associates in Nursing RequiredBachelors in Nursing PreferredParticipation in leadership activities (Unit, hospital or system Shared Governance meetings, Precepting, Charge nurse role, etc.,). PreferredMI Registered Nurse (RN) RequiredAHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) RequiredAHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)2 years of experience as an RN in Ortho OR specialty.
