About the unit
The Pre-op and PACU at Troy Beaumont are a fast-paced critical care unit that specialize in the preparation and recovery of patients who are undergoing a surgical procedure. Our department is comprised of 3 pre-op areas and 3 PACU areas, specializing in both outpatient and inpatient surgeries. Staff who join our units should be teamwork oriented and possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Scope of work
The Assistant Nurse Manager is a first line manager in the administration of Ortho Surgery Services. Assumes responsibility for patients, personnel and the environment with accountability for assigned unit. Responsible for assisting the orientation and in-service education of the Ortho OR staff; responsible for quality assurance activities, policy and procedure revisions and infection control surveillance within the department. Responsible in assisting with the Ortho OR staff schedule and for performance evaluations on assigned staff.

Associates in Nursing RequiredBachelors in Nursing Required within 5 yearsGraduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.MI Registered Nurse (RN) RequiredBasic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years2 years of experience as an RN, POHA PACU RN experience preferredParticipation in leadership activities: unit, hospital, or system.
