RN Cardiac Catheterization

Position Summary

The Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) provides quality nursing care through the application of the nursing process using evidence based practice focusing on excellent outcomes and patient experience within the framework of Shared Governance.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Required: All hires are required to have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Associates Degree in Nursing with at least 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience.

Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

Required: Minimum of two years Acute Care RN experience. Minimum of one year experience as Cardiovascular RN.

License, Registry or Certification:

Required: Current NJ RN licensure and American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification. Preferred: Certification in specialty, PCCN, CCRN, Cardiac Vascular

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

Required: 

Must pass annual clinical competency based program and mandated in-service education.

Unit specific skills may include but not limited to IV therapy, basic arrhythmia interpretation, vent training, critical care, conscious sedation, Bi-Pap/CPAP and EndTidal CO2, IABP, Impella, and other procedure related technologies. Skills will be determined by a challenge exam and/or skill performance or by completion of a Staff Development course.
