The RN (Cath Lab or Cardiac Cath Lab) specializes in workingwith patients undergoing cardiac procedures in a catheterization lab. During cardiac catheterizations, thesespecially trained nurses assist the medical team by monitoring the patient’svitals, assisting with procedural sedatives, assisting doctors, technicians,nurses and the patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administers patient medications Assists in diagnostic procedures and interventionalprocedures Circulates and scrub during cardiac catheterization andelectrophysiology procedures Responsible for discharge teaching with patients and familiesincluding procedural, medications, activities, care of the surgical site andlifestyle/dietary changes Ensures consent paperwork is accurately completed Performs examination of the patient pre andpost-catheterization Manages administrative aspects of cardiac catheterizationand electrophysiology patients Monitors and documents patient vital signs Monitors for signs and symptoms of infections or sideeffects of the procedure Monitors patient sedation levels during and after theprocedure Prepares patients for proceduresMinimum Requirements:
Registered Nurse with a current state license where theywill be working ACLS may be required by state/client contract Minimum of 2 years critical care or Cardiac Cath Labexperience preferred Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency programwhen applicable Current CPR if applicable TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation) Must meet all federal, state and local requirements Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required Computer proficiency required Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: Competitive pay & weekly paychecks Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) savings plan Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
