As an RN in the Cardiac Cath Lab, you will provide care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterizations (also called cardiac cath or coronary angiogram). This is an invasive imaging procedure that evaluates heart function by inserting a catheter into a blood vessel in the arm or groin and then into the coronary arteries. **A caregiver in this position works 6:30am - 5:00pm.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Invasive Lab. + Assess, prepare and position patients for procedures. + Perform conscious sedation and hemodynamic monitoring. + Prepare, implement and document plans of care. + Communicate patients' condition to physicians before, during and after procedures. + Assist with and/or facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures. + Set up and provide equipment and supplies before, during and after procedures. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). + Two years of recent critical care nursing experience. + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
